We believe wine should make you feel good, laugh out loud & make whatever you are doing, better!
Our Story
We are a family owned and operated boutique wine label with award winning wines. With over 30 years in the business, we have vineyards in Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Mendocino. In 2020 we started our new label, FIELD, honoring our roots while leaning into a forward thinking approach to wine making. We make wines for everyone to enjoy—for all ages, budgets and palates.
We love to keep things fun, tasty and interesting! Our Chardonnay is done in a fresh and bright Chablis style, winning Best In Class from the San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition in 2026. We just bottled a first of its kind sparkling orange wine as well as an award winning still orange wine, with an approachable take on this popular wine style. In addition to our more unique wines like our chilled red and vin gris style rose, we make a classic méthode champenoise Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine and a Burgundian style gold medal Pinot Noir.
The FIELD label is fresh, modern, approachable and delicious. Cheers!
Origin Story
Field Vineyards was started by our matriarch, the late Katarina “Nina” Field. Originally from Sweden, then rooted in Los Angeles, she came to Northern California in the 90s and fell in love with the wine, the landscape and the people. She acquired our first vineyard in Alexander Valley in 1993, which we have renamed in her honor, Vineyard Katarina. In this vineyard we grow Cabernet Sauvignon exclusively. Shortly after this, she acquired a parcel of land in Russian River and started her second vineyard from the ground up. She resided here for 30 years, enjoying the fruits of her labors and the long summer days until she passed in 2024. This is our Foggy Owl Vineyard, with warm days and cool marine evening air, it is the perfect site for our style of wine making. Producing our gold medal Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In the late 90s Nina acquired our third vineyard in Mendocino, our Elk Pond Vineyard. Here we grow Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
While we were primarily grape growers before we started the FIELD label in 2020, Nina produced an award winning Cabernet Sauvignon called Katarina from 2003-2007. We brought back the Katarina Cabernet after her passing in 2024 and will be releasing this first vintage for our label later this year. She would have loved it—Skal!
